Land, Water, Wind: Isle of Skye
Selected for numerous juried art exhibitions including at The Bascom,
the Find Arts League of Carey Annual Juried Show, and the North Charleston Palmetto Hands Fine Craft Exhibition in South Carolina.
“Land, Water, Wind: Isle of Skye," wool and recycled silk. This artwork was created during Keelor's artist residency on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, using mankind’s oldest textile making process called wet felting. It represents the otherworldly land formations abundant on Skye, seen from her studio and observed during many hikes around the isle. The land, water and wind are all formidable forces in this stark but breathtaking land. Whether the land, wind or water is the most dominant force changes from minute to minute. Often the three merge until it is difficult to see where one stops and the other begins. By Kim Keelor of Carolina Artworks.
