Real Mountain Gems: Green Stink Bug
Green Stink Bugs are some of the first insects to become active in the spring. They eat a variety of plants and can sometimes be pests when they come indoors. They can emit a smelly odor when harassed or squashed.
The series includes depictions of real insects that can be found in the mountains of western North Carolina. They include: Bigg Dipper Firefly, Convergent Lady Beetle, Honey Bee, Elderberry Borer Beetle, Green Stink Bug, Southern Long Horned Moth. Each of these is a 6 x 6 original artwork created with watercolor, watercolor paper, collage, cold wax, birch wood panel.
