Big Dipper Firefly
This is a common firefly in the southeastern US and helps magically light up the night, especially at twilight, by producing light via an organ on its abdomen. Aside from natural predators, the biggest threats to their populations include light pollution, pesticide use, climate change, and human building and development in their habitats.
